What is Hard Water? Hard water is a type of water that contains mineral ions, primarily calcium or magnesium, often in the form of carbonates. While these ions do not pose any health risks, they can participate in reactions that lead to the formation of insoluble mineral deposits.
How to Descale/Clean the Kettle? 1. Fill the kettle with 1 cup of vinegar or lemon juice and 2 cups of water. 2. Bring the liquid to a boil and let it sit for 2 hours. Then, use a cloth to clean and wipe the inside of the kettle. 3. Rinse the kettle thoroughly with clean water and dry it with a soft, clean cloth. 4. Repeat the process as needed.
Notes: 1. It is normal for the stainless steel bottom of the kettle to develop spots or rust after the first use, especially if the water quality in your area is particularly hard. 2. When you select a preset with the Keep Warm Mode on and then lift the kettle during heating, the CO117-DK will continue the heating process if the kettle is returned to the base within 1 minute.
